The Leeton community is being encouraged to provide feedback on the community’s future health needs with Clinical Service Planning now underway for the Leeton Health Service.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) Chief Executive Jill Ludford has announced that external consultants have been appointed to develop the Clinical Service Plan (CSP) through a consultative process for Leeton Health Service.
“We are committed to working with the community throughout the planning process,” Ms Ludford said.
“Significant stakeholder engagement opportunities will be held in June and July involving consumers, community representatives, key stakeholders and health organisations.
MLHD recognises and advocates for the input of local stakeholders, understanding the community’s investment in local health care.”
A CSP outlines the health services required to meet the community’s needs now and into the future and makes recommendations about the best way to deliver these services.
Consultation opportunities will include a community town hall session and further information will be provided. A survey will also be available to complete online, and paper copies will be available at various venues around town.
An advisory group will be convened to provide local input throughout the planning process. This group will involve various stakeholders including members of the Local Health Advisory Committee, Council, service providers and community representatives.
After the community information sessions are held, the CSP will be produced and placed on public display for one month for all stakeholders to provide feedback. The feedback will be assessed and incorporated into the report which will then be provided to Murrumbidgee Local Health District for endorsement.
The updated Clinical Services Plan may inform consideration of any future investment in the facility.
A $3.7 million package of works, funded by the NSW Government, is currently being delivered to upgrade and reconfigure the Hospital’s Emergency Department and improve public and staff access to the Leeton Health Service.
