We provide public health services to people across the Riverina, Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and the South Western Slopes of NSW.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District, in partnership with NSW Ministry of Health and Health Infrastructure, is committed to the provision of high quality, safe and appropriate public health services.
We have 33 hospitals and 12 primary health care centres across more than 125,000 square kilometres in regional NSW. We offer a range of public health services in the hospital environment as well as community health services. A full list of these services can be found here.

In November 2021 the NSW Government announced $25 million for Finley Hospital as part of a $500 million investment in health that will deliver enhanced health services and more jobs closer to home. Find out more
Griffith is home to the second largest health facility in Murrumbidgee Local Health District providing services to the city and surrounding communities. A $250 million upgrade of Griffith Base Hospital is now underway and scheduled for completion in 2025. Find out more
An $80 million investment in Temora Hospital was announced in December 2021 under the NSW Government’s $500 million health boost for rural and regional NSW. Find out more
This project is part of the MPS model of health care which was developed to respond to need of smaller communities. It offers hospital services, community and residential aged care services under the one roof. The redevelopment was completed in 2019. Find out more

The $4.6 million upgrade of the Deniliquin Hospital was completed in 2022. The upgrade included the purchase, installation and commissioning of a new Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner, upgrade the Hospital Emergency Department and relocation of Oncology Unit to a purpose-built space in the Hospital. The $2.5 million upgrade of Leeton Hospital was completed in 2023. The project involved an upgrade, expansion and reconfiguration of the Hospital Emergency Department, the realignment of public and staff access to the Hospital to improve circulation and security to meet new standards as well as upgrades to clinical spaces and improvements to the Inpatient Unit.
As the biggest building project in MLHD, the Redevelopment was delivered in three stages to provide modern and integrated health services in the District’s largest city. Stages 1 and 2, a new Mental Health Unit and new Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, were completed in 2017. Construction of a new multi-storey Health Services Hub beside the Hospital was the third stage of the Redevelopment and was completed in 2021. Find out more
The $30 million multi-storey car park project at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital is now complete following the planning, design and delivery of a free, 6-level car park as well as street-level parking at two different areas on the health campus.The multi-storey car park was opened on 2 June 2023 and provides more than 350 additional free car spaces for patients, staff and visitors.
