The Tumbarumba Multipurpose Service (MPS) is a 42 bed facility with 5 acute care beds, 33 residential aged care beds.
The 24 hour Accident and Emergency Department is equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Tumbarumba with specialists through the Critical Care Advisory Service.
Community health services include generalist community nursing, child and family health, physical activity groups, and a centre based day care.
In addition there are a number of visiting services including a school dental service, dietitian, mental health/ drug and alcohol, radiography, physiotherapy, women’s health, speech pathology and occupational therapy.
Tumbarumba is a small town located on the western edge of the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales with Kosciuszko National Park to the East and the Murray River to the South. The Selwyn Snowfields are also located only one hour away.
With a population of just under 3,500 residents, there is a public and catholic primary school, a high school, child care facilities and before and after school care. Tumbarumba is about 1 ½ hours south east of Wagga Wagga. It is about 3 hours drive from Canberra and 5 ½ hours drive from Sydney.
A CountryLink coach service operates six days per week to and from Tumbarumba, connecting to rail services destined for both Sydney and Melbourne via Cootamundra. There is also a coach service to and from Wagga Wagga three days per week. Qantaslink and Regional Express operate direct flights to Sydney and Melbourne from Wagga Wagga Airport on a daily basis.
