Tumut Health Service

About Us

The Tumut Health Service is a 30 bed Hospital with 16 acute care beds, 4 medical, 4 day surgery beds and 4 maternity beds, 1 palliative Care, 1 Pediatric 

The 24 hour Accident and Emergency Department is equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Tumut with specialists through the Critical Care Advisory Service.

A full range of community health services are available including community nursing, allied health and mental health services.

Location 

Located on the banks of the Tumut River, Tumut is a small town located in the north-west foothills of the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales. 

With a population of just over 6,000 residents Tumut has lots of exciting spots to explore including a range of tracks and trails, rivers and waterways, Mount Kosciusko and goldfields.

There are a range of education and child care options including a primary school, high school, special school and catholic school up to Year 10. 

Tumut is about 1 ½ hours east of Wagga Wagga. It is about 3 hours drive from Canberra and 5 ½ hours drive from Sydney. Qantaslink and Regional Express operate direct flights to Sydney and Melbourne from Wagga Wagga Airport on a daily basis, which is 110kms from Tumut.
