The Urana Multipurpose Service (MPS) is a 23 bed facility with 3 acute care beds, 19 residential aged care beds.
The 24 hour Accident and Emergency Department is equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Urana with specialists through the Critical Care Advisory Service. It also has the capability to directly transmit ECG’s to a cardiologist for urgent review.
Additional services include visiting physiotherapy, podiatry, dental and women’s health. The local GP surgery also has access to a diabetes educator, dietitian and visiting geriatrician.
Urana is a small country town located in the Riverina region of New South Wales. Urana is a small, close knit and multicultural community of about 300 people. The Urana district is renowned for its agriculture including sheep, wheat and grain crops. There are a range of other employment opportunities for partners in farming, local council and retail around other towns such as Lockhart, Narrandera, Jerilderie and Corowa.
Urana is just over an hour to Albury and Wagga Wagga and about 2 hours to Shepparton in Victoria, providing great accessibility to larger regional towns, services and amenities.
